Apple Fall Harvest

Autumn in the midwest is GORGEOUS! Cool crisp night air, sunny days, blue skies dotted with white fluffy clouds, and the spectacular colors of the fall leaf-turn. It's been a favorite time of year all of my life.

One of my many happy memories from childhood is the fall apple harvest. The fun began with a ride on the tractor with Pap, a picnic lunch lovingly prepared by Granny, and tree climbing to fetch the apples! As if all that fun even needed a reward, it had many in the homemade goodies of applesauce, apple butter, apple cake, and apple pie. Yummy! To this day, the sight and smell of apples bring those happy days to mind.

Maybe those lovely memories have something to do with being drawn to these adorable apple fabrics or maybe ther'e just darling i nthier own right. Perfect for border skirts, peasant tops and dresses, reversible pinafores, and ruffle pants! The colors are also perfect for pairing up with corduroy in leaf green, milk chocolate brown, winter white, and red. Oh, and of course, everything does with denim! See the fun styles in the shop. Think Spring: Fabrics in Pinks and Greens

This was a day of an incredibly beautiful snowfall - big, fluffy flakes floating down from the sky for most of the day. It was so lovely to see! I love it when it's the kind of snow that clings to the tree branches like frosting . Lucky am I to have a little woods view to enjoy it all! This shot is from early in the day when the snow was just beginning to coat the trees .



Sitting here on a cold, cold day bundled in 3 layers of clothes, I read a note from Erin from the Sunshine State. She's looking for another pair of ruffle pants for her sweet girl. Though she loves her denim ones (thanks for the nice words, Erin!) her daughter needs some lighter weight fabric for the warmer days of the Florida winter. Pink and green are favorite colors, so here's a peek as some cotton fabrics that are perfect for ruffle pants and warmer weather.
