Snow Day!

No school today! With 4 inches of new snow and more falling today, it was perfect for sledding! Our home sits on a sloping lot, so it's just the right size for little ones! Our sweet old doggie, Lucky girl LOVES the snow, too!

Think Spring: Fabrics in Pinks and Greens

This was a day of an incredibly beautiful snowfall - big, fluffy flakes floating down from the sky for most of the day. It was so lovely to see! I love it when it's the kind of snow that clings to the tree branches like frosting . Lucky am I to have a little woods view to enjoy it all! This shot is from early in the day when the snow was just beginning to coat the trees .

Sitting here on a cold, cold day bundled in 3 layers of clothes, I read a note from Erin from the Sunshine State. She's looking for another pair of ruffle pants for her sweet girl. Though she loves her denim ones (thanks for the nice words, Erin!) her daughter needs some lighter weight fabric for the warmer days of the Florida winter. Pink and green are favorite colors, so here's a peek as some cotton fabrics that are perfect for ruffle pants and warmer weather.

First up: Amy Butler's Daisy Chain Kaleidoscope

Midwest Modern Nouveau Trees

and Daisy Chain Sweet Jasmine.

Amy Butler's very recently released Love collection, Mint Dots would look darling as the ruffle with the roses fabric for the main pant.

Tumble Roses

Or Olive Dots in stead of Mint ones.

More Amy Butler - these from her Midwest Modern collection and in a beautiful fuchsia pink. The Midwest Modern collection fabrics look great when fixed, so they would also work great to have any one fabric for the legs and another for the ruffle.

Brand new from Patty Young: Flora and Fauna with lime background and shades of pink.

The Flower Bucket collection from Michael Miller

Alexander Henry's Lorenza collection offers little blossoms on pale pink background

or giant flowers on sage green

Lorenzo dots

From the Natura collection, Birdsong

Blankets

These gender-neutral blankets are cuddly minkee on one side and cotton on the other.

The mod turtle gift set of a blanket and onepiece in either short or long sleeves with the turtle of your choice - orange, lighter green, or dark green.

This mod turtle fabric has a retro vibe that also feels modern.

Minkee polka dot white on black with a flipside of quilting cotton white with black dots. Add a giraffe one piece for a darling little gift set suitable for a boy or a girl.

Lady bug blanket is cotton red pin dot with lady bug flannel in robin egg blue. Two styles of one piece are available. This set has been popular with girls, but there's a few boys out there wearing them, too.

The Lucky Dog blankie was originally flannel and cotton, but for winter I added a version with some of the softest minkee I've ever touched. It's a swirl effect with a bit longer fiber. The cotton dot side still has the signature Lucky Dog applique. See the one pieces here.

For girls: pink or white incredibly soft minkee (so much softer than what you'll find a big box store) with fun cotton fabrics on the reverse side.
