S'mores, a Campfire, and Amy Butler

Last weekend we joined a bunch of long-term friends for a campout at their farmland in the rolling hills of southern Ohio. It's a beautiful spot where for now they spend weekends relaxing and caring for the land and in the future they plan to build a home or cabin. There's a brand new, clean barn which came in handy during the pop up storms. One of my favorite things was watching the kids enjoy themselves with simple things like making s'mores over an open fire or driving the gator through the trails among the farm. There really isn't anything like the smile of a child, is there?

I took along some Amy Butler swatches. Okay, a-l-o-t of Amy Butler swatches. Friend Stephanie and her girls were choosing fabrics for the background of thier initial tees. Carley is 6 and quickly decided on hers. Kelsey, just weeks away from 3, flipped through the fabrics proclaiming "I like this one" time and time again. She changed her mind often, but eventually made a choice, too. Afterwards, those swatches were good for fun and games. Who knew how many smiles you could get from something so simple.
